Staff Spotlight:
Katie Duncan, Online Reservations Account Manager

Katie Duncan was born to work with the public. She has an infectious smile and is able to talk to anyone. Everyone, including the innkeeper who essentially proposed to her over the phone, says she’s charming and a pleasure to work with.

Katie grew up in New Orleans but has lived in Austin for seven years, working in the hospitality field. After almost two years with RezOvation (BedandBreakfast.com’s sister company), she moved to BedandBreakfast.com as the Online Reservations Account Manager.

“With roughly 80% of reservations being made online, I was surprised to see the small percentage of B&Bs taking advantage of sites like Expedia and hotels.com. My job is to work with innkeepers to get their properties onto these sites; I help them manage their rates and inventory to make sure that they’re getting the most out of this program.”

Katie is happily married to Chris and is expecting their first child, Will, in  December. She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and teaching their six-month-old yellow lab new tricks.

“I’d love to own my own B&B some day. I enjoy learning more about the industry and talking to innkeepers about  what works best for them, while being able to share sales and marketing secrets from my hotel experience,” Katie says. “I also really like collecting recipes from innkeepers, especially desserts!”
