Promoting the Industry
Marti Mayne Don't miss out on our fall and winter promotions. Post your specials today for fall foliage, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Special Promotions

One of the best ways to promote your property is to attract media and consumer attention with inviting seasonal promotions. And the easiest place to publicize them is on our Special Deals page. Here's how:

Here's the free deal for Silver members and up:

  • Log in with your property ID and password, then click the "specials" link on the left-hand side of the page.
  • Under "Special Summary," click the theme of your choice (see below) and combine a promotional rate with whatever tempting treats or special event tickets your guests might enjoy--it's up to you.
  • Remember that creative offerings are more likely to attract media attention -- they make a better story.
  • To see the specials that have already been posted by your fellow innkeepers, visit our Specials page and click the drop down box marked "Select Special."

Bronze member??? Don't miss out on these specials. Try our 100 percent risk-free upgrade guarantee.

Publicity Leads

As a service to our members, BedandBreakfast.com will be alerting you as we learn about upcoming publicity leads. We regret that we cannot respond to every email you send, but are very grateful for the excellent response. We'll be listing the responses in the Recent Publicity section below, and/or including them in our Press Room. Watch for emails with this subject line: "Urgent: Publicity Lead from BedandBreakfast.com." Depending on the assignment, these leads will be distributed to inns in a specific region or more widely.

Recent Publicity

We are thrilled with the response to our Publicity Leads from both our members and the media. In the month of September alone, we scored over 11 million impressions, based on actual subscribers to the papers or e-zines involved. You can read all current press releases online.

Falling rates are colorful change for leaf peepers “Fall foliage in New England used to sell itself, and simply finding a room was difficult," says Marti Mayne of
BedandBreakfast.com, an online booking agency. "Now we're starting to see more inns offering midweek specials and other packages that would have been almost unheard of a few years ago." Member inns recommended in the article by Laura Bly: Cliffside, Adele Turner and Abigail Stoneman inns of Newport, RI, as well as the Francis Malbone Inn. (September 13, 2002)

Reporter Mei Fong focused on younger innkeepers entering the B&B world, in a Weekend Journal piece called Fall Travel: Inns Turn a New Leaf” which noted: “Young innkeepers are taking over B&Bs in record numbers, with a quarter of inns now run by under-40 owners, according to a survey by BedandBreakfast.com. That's up from 9% in 1997.” BedandBreakfast.com members inns quoted in the article included: the Oak Bluffs Inn, Martha’s Vineyard, MA; The Villa at Saugerties, NY; Sheppard Mansion B&B, Hanover, PA; and Christopher Place Inn in Newport, TN. (September 13, 2002)

Forest fires in Colorado and Arizona had a severe impact on area B&Bs. Our release on special promotions by local inns was picked up by the Frommers.com newsletter, with over 500,000

Internet Life recommends: “To find the perfect one for your next vacation, consult BedandBreakfast.com, which includes a locator that you can use eight different ways to narrow down your choices. True B&B aficionados should also sign up for the free newsletter.” (April, 2002)

Several sources picked up on our Train Lovers’ Specials, including American Woman Road & Travel and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The release covered thirteen B&Bs in nine states.

Our State of the Industry press release made it onto About.com.
