Featured Review on BedandBreakfast.com
Do reviews really help a property? We looked
at two different cities and compared nearby inns that had five or more
reviews, to those that didn't. The properties were comparable in
membership level, size, rates, etc., so we were comparing apples to
apples. We found that properties with reviews received from 50% to
triple the traffic to their detailed listing. The takeaway?
Innkeepers who encourage reviews get more reservations.
About
Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast, Brownwood, TX:
"If
you are looking to get away from the daily stress of life or you want to
find that romance that has been MIA, the Star of Texas B&B awaits you. On
the other hand, if you cannot live without television, you will probably
want to look elsewhere. The Star of Texas is without a doubt one of the best
B&B experiences we have enjoyed. It is definitely a secluded location that
offers peace and quiet and is perfect for the couple that is seeking a
romantic yet somewhat adventurous hideaway. We stayed in
the Oak Cottage and the room was clean, bed was comfortable, the overall
decor, rustic. There is a Jacuzzi just a few feet from the Oak Cottage, but the other
cottages actually have them inside I believe. The owners, Don and Debbie Morelock are a very nice couple, and Don is a chaplain who performs weddings
and vow renewals on site. We had our vows renewed for our 25th while we
stayed here and it was very tastefully done.
The Star of Texas is about a mile off of the main highway on Morelock Lane.
Morelock Lane is a true single vehicle country road, but it will take you to
paradise. One of the things we will do when we go back is
to bring a cooler with sandwich makings, water, etc. as you will want to
spend as much time here as possible instead of traveling to town. This is
the country so you may want to bring some mosquito repellent as well. You
owe it to yourself to give it a try, you will not be disappointed!"
