Posting Specials

From time to time, when a reporter’s inquiry or some other rush request puts us on a tight deadline for information, we look to the Specials page on BedandBreakfast.com, especially the special interest packages (Family-Friendly, Girlfriends Getaways, Outdoor Adventures, Seniors are Special, etc.)

For example, the popular magazine Cosmo Girl referred to the Girlfriends Getaway Specials on BedandBreakfast.com in a recent issue.  And as you’ll read below, those who participated in the ‘Tanks a Lot!’ free gas promotion received plenty of publicity from media hungry for stories about battling rising gas prices.

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to post your specials on BedandBreakfast.com. Posting Specials is free for Silver-level members and up.  Just follow these simple instructions:
  • Log in with your property ID and password, then click the link to "Specials" under free member benefits.

  • Under "Special Summary," click the theme of your choice from the drop-down menu, and combine a promotional rate with whatever tempting treats or special event tickets your guests might enjoy.

  • To see the specials that have already been posted by your fellow innkeepers, visit our Specials page and click the dropdown box.

The media uses BedandBreakfast.com’s Specials Pages to advise readers about great packages.  Read below how Woman’s World Magazine mentioned BedandBreakfast.com’s Girlfriends Getaways Specials in a recent issue.

Recent BedandBreakfast.com Media Coverage

First of all, many thanks to those who responded to recent Publicity Leads where we asked for information about One-Tank Getaways, Fall, Halloween and Girlfriends Holiday Shopping packages.   If you did not receive the publicity lead,  Log in with your property ID and password, then check the Innkeepers Inbox in your home base for one marked 'URGENT: Publicity Lead from BedandBreakfast.com.' 

BedandBreakfast.com stories resulted in over 33 million media impressions from June through early August. If this coverage had been purchased as advertising, the value would exceed $67,000.  Here is some of the recent coverage:

Just prior to Labor Day, SmarterTravel.com’s Weekend Escapes newsletter featured a story about how to find the best B&B. BedandBreakfast.com was the lead-in for the story, and Sandy Soule was quoted with cost-saving tips for those planning B&B vacations. The same article appeared in SmartTravel.com’s Deal Alert newsletter. 

Appearing on I-Newswire, BedandBreakfast.com’s story about affordable family vacations featured  members from California to Maine with the headline, “Gas Prices May Be Soaring, But B&B Vacations Are Still Affordable ...”  

Frommers.com advised readers to look to BedandBreakfast.com for fall foliage packages, explaining: “Those looking for packages oriented around a specific type of accommodation -- namely, a bed and breakfast, can try www.bedandbreakfast.com, an extensive site that ranks small and large cities and advertises tons of deals.”  

John Hilferty, Senior Columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer,

featured a number of the packages highlighted in the “September is for Seniors” release BedandBreakfast.com distributed in August.  

The BedandBreakfast.com Awards continue to receive great publicity.  RoadandTravel.com, a popular website for women,  picked up the story and featured a photo from the porch of the Eastman Inn in North Conway, NH. Additional pick-up has appeared throughout North America including the Ottawa Citizen, Salt Lake City Tribune, Maine Sunday Times, Westchester (PA) Daily Local News, and many more.  

In July, Woman’s World Magazine mentioned BedandBreakfast.com as a great resource for Girlfriends Getaway Packages.
