We Asked:
What is the funniest thing that ever happened at your inn?

You Replied:

"Two elderly ladies drove 250 miles to our inn to attend an 80th birthday party for one of their sorority sisters. (You can imagine the age of our guests). They arrived at dusk and my husband and I went to help them out of the car. Realizing that one of the ladies seemed a bit unsure of her footing, I offered my arm to escort her up our walk. She took my arm, walked a few steps, and then said: "I'm okay. Would you please help Martha? She doesn't see very well." It seemed like a reasonable and thoughtful request until I realized that Martha was the driver!"

"One of the funniest things that have happened at our inn was when I had two Terrence Shaws arriving the same day, both from the same town in England, coming here to Costa Rica. Of course, I deleted one reservation on my computer thinking it was a duplicate. Thank goodness I had an extra room available!"
Debbie King, Debbie King's Country Inn, Heredia, Costa Rica

"Not long after we opened our inn, we had a couple celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary by booking our Victorian Room. We have many period hats, fur coats, and more hanging in the room. The next morning, the husband appeared at breakfast, and said: "Thanks a lot! My wife was so busy playing dress-up she wasn't interested in me last night!"

Gift Certificates
"I was just reading my PAII email regarding gift certificates, when the phone rang. It was none other than a BedandBreakfast.com gift certificate holder. What an easy booking! The certificate was for $50 and I booked $320 of business from of it -- well worth the $5 commission!" Lynn Carlson, 1900 Inn on Montford, Asheville, NC
