One of the best ways to promote your property is to attract media and consumer
attention with inviting seasonal promotions. And the easiest place to publicize
them is on our
Special Deals page. Here's how:
Here's the free deal for Silver members and up:
-
Log in with your property ID and password, then click the "specials" link on
the left-hand side of the page.
-
Under "Special Summary," click the theme of your choice (see below) and combine
a promotional rate with whatever tempting treats or special event tickets your
guests might enjoy--it's up to you.
-
Remember that creative offerings are more likely to attract media attention --
they make a better story.

Train Lovers are Special
|
|
Railfans of the world unite! If your inn is near a historic train route, a
railroading museum, a rails-to-trails path, or has a history that railfans
would enjoy, we encourage you to post a Train Lovers are Special package.
Remember that these special packages can be value-added, not discount packages,
and may be as simple as including the cost of two dinner-train tickets in the
package price (although it doesn't hurt to get a little creative).

In addition to posting your special on our website, please email details to

Fantastic Fly Fishing
Is there a rushing mountain stream, stocked pond, or other body of water near
your property that would attract fishermen? If you are a fishing guide, or have
a buddy who is, post some fishing specials under the Fantastic Fly Fishing
heading. We’re looking to add specials to attract travel writers who had it
with the frilly frou-frou circuit! In addition to posting your special on our
website, please email details to
InnkeeperNews@BedandBreakfast.com.
Planning Ahead for Fall
Magazines have long lead times, and it’s not too early to start planning for
Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas holiday promotions. (Scary thought, we
know, but be strong!) Post some of your best recipes on BedandBreakfast.com
soon, so we can start preparing the PR campaigns. Please keep in mind that food
editors usually look for easy-to-prepare recipes made from fresh, healthy
ingredients. When posting a recipe, please proofread carefully, and capitalize
only proper names.

Recent Publicity
As described below, several major newspapers recently ran articles on B&Bs
catering to business travelers. If your B&B welcomes road warriors (click
here for a list of criteria), send a press release to your area media
outlets describing what your property does to make business travelers
comfortable.
The New York Times published an article entitled Home on the Road: B &
B's Lure Business Travelers, explaining that “B & B's have reinvented
themselves to compete more directly with the hotel chains for business
travelers.” In addition to BedandBreakfast.com, the following member B&Bs were
mentioned: Thurston House, Maitland, FL; Churchtown Inn, Churchtown, PA; and
Dupont at the Circle, Washington, DC. May, 2002.
