Internet Intensives

BedandBreakfast.com and RezOvation have hosted 20 workshops for nearly 900 innkeepers in the past year, providing comprehensive information about Internet marketing, online reservations, yield management, and property management software. About the Internet Intensive Workshops:

Innkeepers do an amazing job of creating welcoming environments for their guests, yet can be out of touch with guests’ needs and expectations, especially in the fast-changing world of the Internet and electronic communications. The Internet Intensive Workshop is the perfect opportunity for innkeepers to learn how to attract and retain today’s travelers. Members of the Gen X and Gen Y generations do everything online, by cell phone and computer, and this has a huge effect on their travel planning.

According to the PhoCusWright Consumer Travel Trends Survey, Americans now buy more travel online than offline: “The year 2007 was the first in which more travel was purchased online than off-line in the U.S. The report predicted that ‘the gap between online and off-line will continue to widen as more and more travelers shift behavior to online shopping and buying’ The study said that 51% of U.S. travel was booked online in 2007, and it projected that percentage to increase to 56% in 2008 and 60% in 2009.”

At the workshop, innkeepers will learn how to increase occupancy while using current software that allows them to do what they love best, taking care of their guests.

Summer Travel Survey Results

In late June 2008, BedandBreakfast.com polled more than 5,200 U.S. innkeepers about advanced bookings for the July 4th weekend. The 1,346 respondents reported that July 4th weekend reservations are even with or have increased over last year at more than 70 percent of B&Bs. Read more.
