Promoting the Industry
 |
”No one in the industry quite believes me when I say that February ‘08
was our highest occupancy month since we opened last June because of the
publicity we received through BedandBreakfast.com for our Black History Month special.
BedandBreakfast.com not only encourages creative marketing but promotes our
efforts as well. As new innkeepers, we frankly couldn’t have a better
industry partner!” - Paulette Lee, Owner, Passages Inn, Gettysburg

My husband and I just returned from a two-night
stay at Glen Ella. We stayed in the suite at the top of the stairs.
We were concerned (at first) about this location because our room
was right over the dining area and there was a big party that night.
However, the quiet at 10 p.m. rule is very effective! The bed was
extremely comfortable; the linens surrounded us with warmth as we
dreamed away the stress of day-to-day life. While only about an hour
and a half from our house, it seemed a million miles away. The
coffee is ground fresh and they use local spring water. Breakfast is
excellent. Don’t miss an opportunity for dinner. The chef is
incredible. I had the lamb and my husband had the beef tenderloin.
It was too hard to decide so we shared. We used the Welcome Book
provided by the Inn to help plan activities in the area. We toured
the local wineries, visited the Tallulah Falls Interpretive Center
and gorge. It was too cold to enjoy the natural beauty that
surrounds the inn; the gardens were just starting to bloom. The
rocking chairs on the porches were inviting. The pool glistened in
the moonlight. We will save that for our next visit. |

"As much as I would like to sell gift
certificates that are exclusively for my inn, I realize that we are not
the perfect gift for everybody. This year, I gave everyone who enquired
about a gift certificate an option of a GC to be used exclusively with
me or good at any B&B in the BedandBreakfast.com membership. Many liked
the idea of having choices, and I sold them the BedandBreakfast.com gift
card. I got the commission up front, and I don’t have to worry about the
liability. I also get most of the face value back should the gift card
be used at my inn. The process was quick and easy. I am very happy with
the results and will continue to offer BedandBreakfast.com cards as an
option." Mike Venturini, Munro House B&B Spa, Jonesville, MI
