You were asked:

If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about your inn (i.e. layout, location, construction, amenities, name, etc.), what would it be, and why?

MSO-Twelve-Oaks

"I would add more rooms! It's a sad moment when we turn away would-be guests. Our three-bedroom inn fills up pretty quickly; an additional two to four extra bedrooms would be ideal. Destination weddings could be offered with more overnight guest capacity. On the other hand, we don't want our guests to lose the feeling of having discovered a country niche reserved just for them, a secluded escape surrounded by nature and wild animals, or the personalized attention. Twelve Oaks started as a fun family experiment. Expansion is something we are seriously discussing."

Laura Miniel, innkeeper, Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast ~ Hill Country Inn, Bulverde, TX

MSO-Victorian

"We would put a great big wraparound porch on our Queen Anne Victorian B&B. They add so much character to a place. We have a front porch, but it's on the small side. We've talked about serving breakfast, afternoon tea, or even dinners on a nice big porch."

Joyce & Frank Stewart, innkeepers, The Richmond Victorian Inn, Richmond, VT

MSO-columns

"The one thing I wish I could change about our B&B is the grand entrance with a fireplace sitting area and the grand staircase. Though all these are visually lovely, the traveler would much prefer a powder room on our first floor.  We are now in the midst of building a powder room at the base of the basement stairs, as our only choice due to nine chimneys."

Kathy Cushing, Innkeeper, The Columns B&B, Philadelphia, PA
